Measles (Rubeola)

Definition and Etiology

Measles is a highly contagious, acute, exanthematous respiratory disease with a characteristic clinical picture and a pathognomonic enanthem (Koplik's spots). Measles is caused by an RNA virus of the genus Morbillivirus and the family Paramyxoviridae.
